Where to Stay in Downtown Asheville [Hotel Arras]!

Are you headed to Downtown Asheville, NC for a quick weekend getaway and wondering what hotel makes the most sense for you? If you’re someone who loves luxury hotels, walking through the city, and staying close to all the trendiest hotels and bars, then Kimpton Hotel Arras is the hotel for you in Downtown Asheville, NC!

Kimpton hotels are known for the beautiful designs and Kimpton Hotel Arras is no different! Yes, it’s beautiful and it’s also in the absolute best location in Downtown Asheville, NC. Below is a Downtown Asheville map for reference – there are a ton of restaurants, bars, shops, and coffeeshops not included below, along with their brewery district that is more south!

Kimpton Hotel Arras is only 289 feet from the downtown Asheville Art Museum! You can see it from the hotel 🙂 Visiting the art museum is a must! Don’t miss out on the hidden gem rooftop bar for wine or coffee after you finish strolling through the museum.

I always prefer to stay in hotels that are downtown, so we can walk to all the bars, restaurants, and museums and to explore the city more easily 🙂 Kimpton Hotel Arras was seriously so beautiful… I cannot wait to show you some of my favorite art work from the hotel too!

Our Stay: Kimpton Hotel Arras

Location: Downtown Asheville, NC

It was really easy to spot Kimpton Hotel Arras when we were getting off of I-240 E on to Patton Avenue because it might be the tallest building in Asheville with a bright, white exterior and a ton of windows. It’s on the left hand side about .3 miles down the street, with the Art Museum being diagonally across from it, and it’s surrounded by all amazing restaurants, bars, and breweries. There are so many breweries in Asheville!! If you like beer, you’ll love it here.

Tip: get in the left hand lane ASAP because it’s a one way street and you can pull directly into the valet parking lot.

Room type: King Suite

Consider me sold when a room has a view… I was so excited about staying in the King Suite because it had floor to ceiling windows (who doesn’t love big windows?) with a beautiful view of the mountains *faints from how dreamy it is*.

The King Suite had plenty of room for the two of us, a lot of clothing storage space, a mini fridge, a lounge chair, and the softest king bed I’ve slept in!! Something else I loved about our stay here is that you were able to sign in with your tv streaming services — I always like to watch my favorite shows before bed 🙂 Not to mention: that shower was perfection.

Restaurant: Bargello

I love starting my day with a coffee… obviously(!!!), so on our last day there, I headed downstairs to Bargello, Kimpton Hotel Arras on-site restaurant, they are known for their woodfire pizzas and pastas… but their breakfast was excellllllent! I ordered avocado toast, a latte, and sausage. All of it was delicious 🙂

Besides loving my breakfast, I also loved the interior of the restaurant – specifically the gorgeous light blue velvet booths, lots of plants, and the natural light. Together, it created a sense of peace and overall calmness, the best way to start a morning.

Bar: District 42

I spent my morning at District 42 drinking a pretty tequila sunrise … yum! I loved District 42 because it was gorgeous, with bright, natural light, neutral tones, and little nooks to enjoy your favorite beverage and a book. Also… how pretty is that tequila sunrise?! They also have an outdoor patio that looked like a great place to spend the evening with friends! We were out running around so we sadly didn’t spend time out there. Isn’t District 42 GORGEOUS!?!??

Design: Main floor

I was starstruck when walking into Hotel Arras, it was gorgeous with super tall ceilings and overall, it was just shimmering with the types of art work everywhere. Below are my two favorite pieces of art work! I was lucky enough to meet the GM who shared some details about the two pieces of art below:

The 1st one, was painted black, then scratched off to create this cool waterfall design! The 2nd one contains REAL leaves that were about 7 feet big, I want to say he said they were from Oregon and preserved there, before making their way back to Asheville… it was so cool!

Off to Explore Asheville!

Would I stay at Kimpton Hotel Arras again? The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES! It was in an incredible, walkable location, stunning interior design, friendly staff, and the convenience of having a restaurant and bar onsite is great! Aaaand…. it’s pet friendly 🙂 I loved seeing all the dogs smiling about being at Hotel Arras too, lol. We loved watching our favorite shows after a long day of exploring and eating our way through Asheville… with that being said, up next will be a blog post about all the restaurants we went to! Spoiler: Asheville is foodie paradise.
